An Aesthetic Desk Tour For The Beige-Obsessed Girlies

I’ve been obsessed with Pinterest since I discovered it in middle school, and as the Type A workaholic that I am, I always had a board dedicated to my future home office. Fast forward ten years, I have my own apartment, and I just finished decorating the most aesthetic desk space I could’ve dreamed of. Pinterest approved for suuuuure.

Breaking Down The Most Aesthetic Desk Setup

The Desk Of My Dreams

If you’re familiar with the niche of home offices on Pinterest, you know that the most popular and aesthetic desk option is the CB2 Ridge Bleached Oak Desk With Drawer. I remember the first time I saw it, my jaw fell open. It was the most stunning piece of furniture I had seen, and I finally realized that I was getting old because there was no way a fancy desk could make me so happy. But the joy quickly faded when I saw the price point.

I would often go into the Crate & Barrel Outlet in El Segundo, California, in hopes of finding a slightly damaged and cheaper one there, but I had no luck.

After giving up and finally ordering it, it took almost four months to arrive. FOUR MONTHS. This gave me four months to overthink my decision. Had I just made a huge mistake? Was it a stupid decision to spend so much on a single piece of furniture? But let me tell you, once it arrived, I had never been so sure of a purchase in my life. It is absolutely stunning!

The Viral Criss-Cross Chair

I love sitting criss-cross applesauce. Like, always. Especially when I’m working! Growing up, I’d always had a plastic chair from IKEA that curved up on the edges and hurt my thighs when trying to sit with my legs up. When I saw the viral criss-cross chair on TikTok, I immediately added it to my cart.

I ordered this one from Amazon, which is currently on sale for $159, but Walmart sells a much cheaper option priced at only $56. It does seem a little smaller though.

The chair was pretty easy to put together — watch me build it here — and is really comfortable to sit on. A good desk chair is such an underrated and overlooked purchase, but it makes all the difference. Plus, the fact that it’s beige and cute adds to the whole “aesthetic desk” thing we have going on.

Desktop Accessories

It’s not an aesthetic desk without cute accessories, so I may have gone a little overboard.

Starting with the biggest items, I picked up this lamp from Target since I don’t love the overhead lighting in my office. It’s too blue and makes me feel like I’m in a Walmart. But since my desk is placed in the middle of the room, I was finding it impossible to hide the lamp cord. I swear my phone listens to me because the other day, I saw a video of a woman who cut her lamp’s cord and put in a rechargeable light bulb instead (I just ordered this pack of four off of Amazon), so that’s up next on my to-do list!

I also got a beige desktop pad. This desk is so big that the pad helps break it up visually, which helps with decorating. Within the perimeter of the pad, I have my computer and agenda, and directly above it are my pen holder and phone stand.

In said pen holder, I have my favorite pens, cute highlighters, and a pink cloud-shaped box cutter.

I love decorating my home with this pack of fake tulips from Amazon, so I grabbed a pack of white ones to put in my new ribbed vase. Next to that, I have two books, Chloé Catwalk: The Complete Collections and Still: The Slow Home, and a cloud-shaped plate that I put jewelry on.

There are two items I featured in the TikTok that aren’t in the images above, which are both from Amazon. I got this cute carafe, and an electric candle lighter!

Last but not least, I have my green Apple Airpods Max, but they weren’t complete until I bought this stunning Wildflower case to match my phone case. So adorable!!

I can now sleep peacefully knowing I have finally created the neutral-aesthetic desk of my dreams. I’m also working on some full-office content (like a video office tour and blog rundown), which should be up soon!
