How it All Began
My self-titled blog, Camila Vilas, was created in my college apartment in 2019!
As someone who was always in creative spaces (whether in my photography classes or auditions,) going to school for Psychology was a brusque change, and I quickly began missing having a creative outlet.
I jumped into the blogging world with no prior knowledge and taught myself everything. It took forever, but looking back, I can easily say it was the best decision I’ve ever made!

A few months later, I decided to take a gap year and got a job as a Talent Agent Assistant, but after six months, I was laid off in March of 2020. At the time, I was devastated at what I thought was a major setback, but it turned out to be the complete opposite.
I was now stuck in my room with an infinite amount of time to do whatever I wanted — what better time than to start a new(ish) hobby? I took on the task of completely renovating my blog:
- I learned how to “decorate” a website and make it all pretty
- I studied website SEO + keywords
- I focused on developing my brand
- I started posting three blog posts per week because consistency is key! Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
One thing led to another: I started making videos on TikTok and posting fashion content on my Instagram, which led me to grow an incredible community. And now, I’m a full-time content creator! All thanks to you.
