If you’ve ever wondered what going to a brand event is like as a content creator, this is the post for you! I was invited to Princess Polly’s Friendsgiving Event last night, and I had so so much fun. I got to meet a bunch of new creators, see old friends, and eat incredible food.
So let’s start from the veeeeery beginning!
Dear Diary:
outfit of the night
Diving into my ootn [outfit of the night], I definitely had some trouble when I first put the sweater dress on (clearly depicted in this TikTok) because it was much thicker than I had anticipated. In my head, I was going to have the sweater dress dripping down over the gold chain belt, but it was so thick and stiff that it kind of just….protruded out. There was absolutely no dripping going on.
I tried putting together other outfits, but nothing looked good, and I could feel myself slipping into that getting-ready-rage (iykyk), so I put the sweater dress back on, and I was determined to make it work.
Per my sister’s recommendation, I flipped the belt around and tucked the sides of the sweater in an attempt to make it look less boxy. Doing this added lots of fabric to the back, which ended up looking a bit scrunched, but it worked… sort of. Let’s just say that every time I saw the event photographer running around taking pictures, I made sure to be facing them at all times. I still got a comment on my video saying I looked like a potato sack, though, so that sure helped with my confidence!
***The red purse is currently sold out on the Princess Polly website, but the beige headband is back in stock!
The knee-high croc boots I wore are from Amazon and fit true to size. I love them so much I’m debating buying them in other colors because they go with everything. And by the end of the night (roughly 5 1/2 hours), my feet hurt a little from all the standing/walking, but not nearly as bad as other boots I’ve worn to events.
the new Princess Polly Store in Century City
The event started at 6:00p, and there were two parts to the night. The first took place in the new Princess Polly store that recently opened up at the Westfield Century City Mall, and then we had dinner at Terra.
I arrived with my friend Maddison, and when we got to the store, we were immediately greeted by the Princess Polly PR team. As a creator, when you work with a brand, you have a brand rep (representative) who you work one-on-one with, and I love getting to meet them in person! We chatted about anything and everything and got a bunch of content for our IG Stories.
I will say though, as fun as these events are, they’re technically glorified work events, The majority of the time is taken up by chatting and networking with the Princess Polly team and other creators, so I don’t have much else to report here haha.
As the night went on, I slowly made my way back to the drink station where they were handing out Onda seltzers, and before dinner, we were allowed to pick one item from the store to take home.
I picked the Harmony Sweater in Navy since I’ve been seeing it everywhere lately, and now I understand why. It’s SO CUTE. They only had size XS/S left, which I assumed would be too small, but it actually fit perfectly. Such a cute sweater with the perfect amount of thickness!
dinner at Terra
After mingling for a while, everyone walked over to Terra on the Eataly rooftop and it was stunning! The Princess Polly team had sectioned off an area for us to keep hanging out (where we also had our own private access to the restaurant bar) so I was a happy gal haha. We took even more pictures, and then got permanent bracelets done by Link x Lou. Bracelet stations have become a super popular activation at brand events, so my stack is quickly growing!
Once we sat down at the table, the dinner was coursed out and we had the most incredible plates of pasta, steak, sides, and dessert. YUM.
If you ever need a date night recommendation, you have to try Terra out! The tiramisu is a 10000/10 and I’m definitely still thinking about it.
